so community involvement in monitoring the standard of education is
usual.

The Federal Department in charge of the national education policy is the Department of Education, Training and Youth Affairs (DETVA). The
Department ensures that consistency and standards are maintained through
all states and territories.

The
Skillmax Program
The
Skillmax Program is funded by NSW DET and offers courses to
assist
people of non-English speaking backgrounds who have overseas
qualifications, training, skills and experience to develop awareness of
the culture of the Australian workplace. The course aims at providing
effective JobseeRing and communication skills training for people with
overseas qualifications, skills orexperience. Contact directly at the

Migrant Placement Program (SMPP)
|
|
|
Specialist
Migrant Placement Officers are funded by the NSW DET to work exclusively
with qualified migrants in order to make them job ready. SMPO's provide
recently arrived migrants looking for jobs with information on relevant
training courses, assists them with job experience placements and gives
them personalised advice on work options.
